Registration Policy

  • The only way to guarantee your place in a class is to pay the full class fee before the class runs. Some classes fill very quickly, so it is recommended that you register for a class as soon as possible.
  • You can register over the phone with your Visa or Mastercard, or in person with Visa, Mastercard, cash, or debit. Cheques are accepted, but your place in the class won't be held until your cheque clears (usually 5-7 business days).

Refund Policy

  • Refunds will be issued only if requested a full week or more prior to the first class. A 25 percent administrative fee will be deducted from the cost of the class. Tool refund requests must be made at the same time as the class refund request. Tools will be refunded upon presentation of the bill and after determination that the tools may be resold as 'new' goods -- ie., they have not been used.
  • No refunds will be issued once the class has begun.
  • Each class has a minimum number of students required, and if that minimum is not met, the entire class will be cancelled. If an entire class is cancelled, full refunds will be issued to all those who have signed up.
  • Refunds must be made in the same manner as payment was made (a VISA credit for a VISA purchase, for instance).

Absence Policy

  • If the teacher is unable to make a class and it must be cancelled, she/he will make arrangements for a make-up class (Mountain Gems is not responsible for arranging this make-up class). Students will only have the opportunity for making up a cancelled class by coming to the scheduled make-up class. If a student cannot make a class, there will be no make-up opportunities offered.

Class Participation Policy

  • Prior to each class, students are asked to wait in the sales area of the store (upstairs) until the instructor is available to escort you down
  • Arriving early allows you time to “check-in” and purchase any tools or materials needed (this is especially important for the first day of multi day classes)
  • For your convenience, we will be happy to “run a tab” for you during each class, however, payment is expected at the end of each class, not at the end of the course.
  • Don’t forget to dress casual as getting dirty is part of the fun. No open toed shoes, and always tie long hair back.
