Beginner Silversmithing

Duration: 24 hours - 3 hours every Tuesday night for 8 weeks
Cost: $195.00 (plus HST)

Come every Tuesday night from 6:30-9:30 for eight weeks, and learn how to manipulate sterling silver into finished pieces of jewellery. This class covers sawing, piercing, soldering, stone setting using bezels, filing and polishing. Students will start with a pendant and then make a ring. No experience necessary, this class is great for beginners, who work well in small class sizes, with lots of one-on-one attention.

Required tool list:

  • 1- 4" jeweler’s saw frame
  • 1- 6" 1/2 Round file – 2 cut
  • 1- 6" Ring file – 4 cut (optional)
  • 2- file handles
  • 1- 1/2 round 4-cut needle file
  • 1 doz – 2/0 saw blades
  • 1 pair – AA Tweezers
  • 2 Drill bits (1.0 & 1.5mm)
  • Emery Paper: #0, #1,(#2 optional)
  • Emery boards (optional)
  • 1- Bezel Pusher
  • Ringclamp
  • Sterling Silver
  • Cabochon Stone
  • Bezel Wire
  • Sharpie pen
  • Note book & pen or pencil

Additional materials may be required.

No prior jewelry making experience necessary to take this class
