Beginner Silversmithing

Duration: 24 hours - 3 hours every Wednesday night for 8 weeks
Cost: $195.00 (plus HST)

Come every Wednesday night from 6:30-9:30 for eight weeks, and learn how to manipulate sterling silver into different types of jewellery. This class has a structured schedule, and covers piercing and sawing, chain making, soldering, ring making, and stone setting. No experience necessary, this class is great for those who like one-on-one attention in a structured environment.

Required tools:

It is recommended that you have your tools with you on the first class. If you still need to pick up your tools on the class night we suggest that you arrive 1/2 an hour early to make sure that you will be able to make it to the class on time.

  • 4" jeweller's sawframe
  • 6" 1/2 round file 2 cut
  • File handle
  • Set of 2 cut needle files
  • 3/0 sawblades
  • 1 sheet each: 0, 1, 2/0 emery paper
  • Bezel/prong pusher
  • Pliers- Round, 1/2 Round, Flat Nose
  • Wire Cutters
  • Twist Drill Set
  • Scribe & Centre punch
  • Ball Pein Hammer
  • Burnisher
  • AA Tweezers

Materials (project specific):

It is recommended that you wait to see the demonstrations before you pick out your stones and silver.
