Learn to make cold connections using hinges, rivets, and interlocking pieces. This 2 day workshop will show you how to make 3 dimensional pieces with tube set stones (into rivets). You will learn how to make a specialized tool for this technique. The second day you will incorperate the techniques learned in the first class into making a locket. Some soldering skills are necessary for this class.

Required Tools:

  • Needle files
  • Rawhide mallet
  • Stone setting & hart burs
  • Saw frame
  • 1 doz sawblades (3/0 or 4/0)
  • Pliers:* round nose * wire cutters * flat or needle nose * parallel pliers
  • Riveting hammer
  • Ring clamp
  • Burnisher
  • AA tweezers
  • Bezel pusher
  • Punch (depends on your project)
  • Project specific copper, brass and/or silver (tubing, sheet and wire)
  • Project specific cubic zirconia
A kit which provides appropriate wire, tubing, burs etc. will be available for purchase prior to the class.
