Lost Wax Casting

* PLEASE NOTE* There is  a maximum of 30 grams of silver per cast, this class is intended for jewellery pieces only.

This course runs for 5 Sundays and teaches wax carving, spruing, investng & casting. Learn how to go from a chunk of wax to a masterpiece!

Required  Tools and Materials :

• Strong Exacto knife with long blade
• Vulcrylic wax carving file
• Sawframe and spiral sawblades (or skip-a-tooth blades)
• #2 Needle file Set (never used on metal) and/or Needle Wax Rasp Set
• Carving Wax: Jr. Wax Kit
• Dental tool set
• Needle probe
• Investment (1lb)
• Alcohol lamp with 1/4 inch wick
• Denatured Alcohol
• Wax Pen
• Silver casting grain
• #2 sawblades (or sprue cutters)
• Plus: Your usual metal finishing tools

Additional materials may be required.
