Overview - Two Day Workshop: Ove 2 days students will learn how to set their hand carved stones from the carving class or they can bring in a freeform cab and learn different ways to set their piece. Students will modify and addapt their projects to best show off the stone and yet still be secure.
Objectives: The first day will be focused on designing the settings for our uniquely shaped stones, followed up with learning which techniques are possible to best showcase their unique gemstone. These will be demonstrated by the instruct and then applied by the students to their work. Prongs, partial bezels and setting corners will all be covered. The second day will be spent will be finishing up the construction on the pieces and learning the proper steps in finishing and setting the stones.
There is a $125 tool kit available or else you may purchase or bring your own separately. Throughout the course, students will receive various discounts on cut stones, metal and tools.

Activities: In this 2 day workshop you will:
1. Students will start by sitting down and designing a piece to accent their handcarved stone or a freeform cabochon of their choice.
2. Instructor will demo how to construct partial bezels, prongs and how to work around corners on their stones so that they are secure in their piece.
3. Students will have 2 days of hands on experience of designing, stone setting and the steps used for finishing off their metal and then setting their stones to best showcase them.
