Overview - 8 Week Workshop: Come one night a week from 6:30– 9:30pm for eight weeks, and take your silversmithing skills to the next level. Some of the techniques covered are pearl setting, soldering 3 dimensional forms, riveting, learning to set stones with unique shape and so much more. These techniques will be demonstrated, and you will be guided through practice pieces, then encouraged to incorporate some of your new found knowledge into your own, one of a kind designs. Some previous silversmithing experience required.
Objectives: Taking your basic skills to the next level. Learn more advanced soldering techniques, how to deal with stones that are more technical to set and just being confident with being able to design something that is more challenging and being able to complete it with confidence!
Required Tools (from Beginner's Kit):
4" Jeweler’s Sawframe
6" 1/2 Round File – 2 cut
1- File Handle
1 pair – AA Tweezers
Emery Paper (240, 280, 400)

You’ll also need a notebook and pen or pencil, and a small toolbox for carrying around your goodies!
Activities: In this 8 week workshop you will:
1. Learn about soldering hollow forms, making bexels for stones with corners, hammer setting a sterling silver bezel, tube setting and riveting.
2. Plan, design and make your own jewellery and finish it by the end of the 8 weeks.
3. take your skills to the next level, learn more advanced techniques and feel comfortable executing them.
Class Tips: The class is an 8 week workshop. Think about the techniques we will be learning and try to have some ideas for possible projects so you aren't having to whip something up quickly. Students will always get a week's notice of the following week's technique.
